Global Operations Programme Review
Sector:
Global News and Media
Business Challenge:
The incoming sponsor for a major programme supporting
the organisations service management improvement roadmap
required a detailed programme review. The driver for
the review was a perception from the sponsor that a
number of programme disciplines and deliverables were
not operating at optimal levels. This major programme
of work supports the Operations service management
improvement roadmap and has a portfolio of 15 projects
with an overall 2007 budget in excess of £7.4
million
How did we help?
Xceed worked with the client through a process of stakeholder
interviews and detailed business analysis to help put
the programme back on track.
Objectives:
- Re-alignment of the budget against the original
2007 financial baseline, including itemised committed
and estimated spend at a project level for the remainder
of 2007
- Provide a programme plan and resource profile to enable more effective use of the resource pool
- Review of 3rd party interface management
- A review of the programme governance and controls
- Proposal related to improved provision and management of Benefits Realisation
Benefits Realisation:
The work completed successfully within a very aggressive
4 week timeframe. A list of recommendations was subsequently
implemented and these included the recruitment of a
new Programme Manager.
